Southern Lakes Laundries

After a long winter season with great snow conditions at the ski fields, we were really starting to enjoy the warm, sunny spring weather and the promise of a long summer ahead.

However, Mother Nature in November can be a little contrary, and to keep us on our toes she gave us a good polar blast with a nice dump of snow, and sub-zero conditions – just because she could, and often does at this time of year!

Luckily for the 11,000+ runners in the annual Queenstown Marathon event two days beforehand, the weather was perfect, and a great weekend was enjoyed by all.

At the laundry we are gearing up for the summer period ahead, with lots of new linen stock on order ready for our busiest season.

Earlier in the year we added another large 120kg Overhead Dryer to our arsenal to help us boost production levels further, as well as continuing to refine our existing high-volume laundry processing systems and equipment.

We are also very excited to be planning a large extension to our laundry which will begin mid-2019 with an expected finish prior to Summer 2019. Together with the addition of more large-scale laundry machinery, the expansion will allow further improvements in production and increased capacity for the future.

Hand in hand with our productivity improvements, we continue to invest in sustainable practices to reduce our usage of water, gas, chemicals and ultimately our carbon emission, for every kilogram of laundry processed.

All reports are pointing towards another busy summer for accommodation and hospitality providers in the region as we look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world to share our stunning region.

All the best for Christmas and the New Year ahead.
