Southern Lakes Laundries is a specialist Linen Hire and Laundry Services company set up specifically to service the Accommodation and Hospitality sector in the Southern Lakes region of New Zealand.
We are an independent private company with local shareholders and directors, and an intimate knowledge of the needs and requirements of our local business community.
Pre – Covid the laundry use to operate 365 days a year - like most of our clients. However due to the current environment we work to ensure we meet demand whilst ensuring we manage our business profitably
The largest industrial laundry and linen hire company based in Queenstown, we began operations in May 2004 in our custom designed and built laundry facility, with high volume, high tech industrial laundry processing equipment and high-quality linen.
Our laundry accommodates 2 Continuous Batch Washers, an automated Sorting and Overhead Rail System, in late 2020 we added a further High Speed Double Roll Ironing Line bringing the total number of Ironing Lines to 3, we also have a range of folders, driers, and assorted laundry equipment.
Also, in 2020 we expanded the laundry further with a new dirty linen inward area and an outward area that allows us to be able to cater to the growing demand
From small beginnings, we now process in excess of 18 tonne per day at peak periods, with capacity to handle considerably more. Our initial 5 employees have grown to more than 60 staff, with our own delivery vehicles servicing clients throughout the region from Queenstown to Mt Cook and all the towns in between - Arrowtown, Wanaka, Cromwell, Omarama and Twizel.
In May 2021 Southern Lakes Laundries purchased the Mackenzie Laundry in Twizel and has rebranded this laundry also to Southern Lakes Laundries. This laundry caters to all the Mackenzie basin and we now also service Mt Cook, Tekapo and Fairlie.
